Let’s be straight forward and say it: Hair loss sucks.

It often feels embarrassing, and frankly it’s just another thing you carry in the back of your head (quite literally).

The main culprit behind men's hair loss is due to excess DHT (dihydrotestosterone). DHT shrinks the hair follicle, which results in lighter, finer hair until it’s finally gone. Therefore, hair-loss products focus on blocking DHT.

Luckly, it’s 2018 and there’s many products and methods to prevent hair loss and even promote hair regrowth, so we did the work of throwing together a lit of products to help you get back to feeling like your confident, full head-of-hair, self.

Hair Regrowth products

The foundation of a hair loss prevention regimen starts with a hair regrowth product.

Popular options you might’ve heard about are Nioxin or Rogaine. Here’s a starter kit we suggest:

Nioxin System 1 Starter Kit - Scalp Therapy Treatment

Nioxin works by helping clean away follicle-clogging sebum and residye from the scalp - which leaves your hair clean and refreshed. Nioxin uses lightweight conditioning ingredients to give you thicker-looking hair by increasing the fullness and strength of each hair strand.

Shampoo & Conditioner

To prevent hair loss, it’s recommended that you shampoo as little as possible - only when you need to get rid of build up and excess oils. As for conditioner, everyone should be using it to restore moisture to your hair so don’t skip out on this important step!

Look for shampoo and conditioners that contain DHT blockers and provide moisture back to your hair and scalp. This will also make your hair look more full and voluminous.

Styling Products

Hair styling products could give an instant solution to your hair thinning dilemma. The right products can make hair seem thicker and help hide thinning spots. Here’s a few of our favorites:

Barberstation Pomade

Lakme K.Style Texture Putty

If you’re using Nioxin or Rogaine, you can still use styling products. Just make sure you apply the Nioxin first and wait for it to dry before styling. If you use a blow dryer, make sure the keep it on the lowest setting to prevent additional damage to your hair.

With a combination of a hair regrowth treatment, a DHT blocking shampoo & conditioner, and a set of styling products, you’ll be well on your way to having hair you’re proud of again!
