Let's be real, the best part of Thanksgiving is all the yummy food. From roasted turkey (or tofu), sweet potato casserole, Brussels sprouts, green beans, stuffing and pumpkin pie, you know it's going to be a party!
But you know what's not cute? Getting your hair caught in your food. But don't worry, we got you covered! With these 5 cute hairstyles, you'll be able to eat as much as you want while still looking picture perfect.
A deep parted side braid is a feminine hairstyle fit for any family dinner. Its intricate looking design makes it appear as though you put a lot more effort than you really did! Start off by parting your hair to one side. From the top of the sectioned part, start by doing a french braid by gathering additional strands as you go. Once you reach the nape of your neck, continue braiding normally and secure it with a tiny elastic. In order to really get eye-catching look, lightly tug on some sections of the braid to get a fuller look. Also try a texturing spray to really give the braid movement.
Try the JOICO Hair shake liquid to powder finishing texturizer. Its unique design features a stainless steel ball that when shaken, mixes the texturiser into an ultra-fine mist. The formula then instantly dries into a powder to provide extra thickness to your style.
For a simple, yet edgier look, try the half up top not style! This will allow you to get the front piece out of your face, while still keeping the majority of your hair down. To master this hairstyle, you'll first need to section off your hair so that you only have the front and middle parts tied up. Once you have this middle section, tie it into a high ponytail, keeping it centered. Start twisting the middle ponytail to create a small bun and the top of your head. With either elastics or bobby pins, make sure the bun is secure. The final step is to smooth over the front area and make sure there are no flyaways.
We recommend the Wella professionals Eimi sugar lift spray. This spray is infused with sugar to hold a variety of styles and provides really great lift and shine. This will ensure that the top of your bun looks smooth and put together.
For a simple and relaxed hairstyle for a family gathering, try the inverse ponytail! This style seriously takes under 5 minutes, but looks so delicate and romantic. Start by parting your hair down the middle and brushing it until smooth. Tie it up into a low ponytail, but keep it fairly loose. Once the hair is in a ponytail, create a hole by splitting the top of the ponytail so that you can loop the tail through the hole.
Once you loop the ponytail through the how, you are all set to go! However if you want to get a little fancy, use a teasing brush to give the ends of the ponytail a bit more texture and volume. The Salon Club teasing comb is a super affordable comb that will give you just the right amount of texture!
For a fun and romantic look, try a side braided low bun hairstyle. This is perfect for feasting! With all of you hair out of your face, you will be able to eat as much as you want without risking your hair getting messy. This look however, requires a bit more effort than the others. You're going to have to start by parting your hair with a leek and straight hairline. Then you will continue by creating a dutch or french braid on one side of your head. Once you reach the nape of your neck tie up the braid. Repeat the exact same braid on the opposite side, and tie it with an elastic as well. By now you should have 2 dutch or french braided pigtails. Now you need to undo the elastics and combine all the hair into a low pony tail. Then twist your hair and pin it to create the cutest low bun.
To really create a a full and voluminous look, try the Hair treats hair building fiber. Add a bit of this powder on to the roots of your hair around the hairline. This product instantly builds your hair with natural plant protein fibers so that you notice a fuller and thicker head of hair. This is perfect for anyone with thinner hair!
For a casual and flirty look, keep half of your hair down and braid the two front sections off to the side. This look is pretty simple, yet still gives a sense of elegance. Start off by braiding a 2-3 inch section of hair on the side of your head and tie it off once the braid meets the back of your head. Repeat this braid on the other side of your head and then remove both elastics. With the hair from both sides of the braid, combine them and braid down normally.
To make this hairstyle even more romantic and whimsical, curl the ends for a fluffy look! For very soft curls, try the Professional Curl Machine Miracurl which actually curls your hair for you. This iron has 3 different heat settings, 3 different timer settings and 3 different curl direction settings to create automatic and effortless waves.
These hairstyles will be sure to keep you looking cute even with all the food around! So go ahead, enjoy your post-Thanksgiving food coma while still having picture worthy hair!
