Although many people are getting sick of all these "national days," the Princess day actually has an interesting history. It's a fairly new day of celebration, but it was created by "The Swan Princess" franchise. The animated film was originally released in the U.S on November 18, 1994. This day was created to recognize the princess within each girl, regardless of their age.
So whether you are 12 or 42, we hope you're ready to let your inner princess shine! We'll be looking at some of the most iconic Disney Princess hairstyles today and showing you how to recreate them at home.
Princess Jasmine, most famously known from the movie "Aladdin" has always had some of the best hair. Her signature bubble ponytail is actually very easy to recreate at home. You'll need to start off by rope braiding the 2 front sections of your hair and tying them together behind your head. Then you can tie all your hair in a low ponytail and put elastics in section increments. Depending how long your hair is, you can tie the sections going down the ponytail in 3-4 inch increments. Finish off the look with the LAKME K.Style Polish Sheen Spray to give your hair a shiny and silky finish.
One of the most famous Princesses is the classic Cinderella. She's mostly known for her glass slippers and sparkly blue dress, but her hair is just as gorgeous. To get her sweet chignon from her time at the Ball, start by sweeping your hair into a low ponytail and twist your hair upwards. Once you've reached the top of your head, bobby pin the twisted section in place. Then grab a donut bun maker (cut it to make a roller) to roll the ends of your ponytail around and fan out the hair to make a bun. To make sure the hair stays in place, try the LAKME K.Style Hard Xtreme Hold Spray. It holds all flyaways and will ensure that your bun stays intact all day long.
Aurora is known for sleeping for 100 years, yet somehow she still manages to wake up with perfect hair. To get Aurora's romantic curls, you'll have to use a fairly big curling iron to get those looser curls. The Hot Tools 1-1/2" Professional Spring Iron For Longer Hair is a great tool for anyone with long hair who wants to achieve soft curls. It heats up quickly, has a soft-grip handle and has a 24K gold plated barrel.
From the movie Beauty and the Beast, Belle is known for her love of books. Even though she spends most of her time reading, her hair still always looks on point. Her simple ponytail is practical while still looking cute. To get this effortless look, start by rope braiding the 2 sides of the front section and pull it into a low ponytail. After the ponytail, you'll need to create an opening to loop the ponytail through the hair to create a more intricate look.
To achieve Belle's soft look, finish off with LAKME K.Therapy BioArgan Oil to get those soft waves. This oil will help prevent breakage and make the hair appear soft and silky. It will also tame any frizz.
Mulan is the warrior princess. Although she pretends to be a man for most of the film and has her hair tied in a bun, her natural hair is super straight. To achieve this very sleek look, you'll need a really good flat iron. The Hair Treats purple glam practitioner flat iron is one of the bests! It comes in this beautiful purple color and is made with Korean titanium plates. This leaves the hair looking very smooth and shiny.
Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" always had the best red hair! She is one of the lucky ones where her hair looks perfect both in and out of water. Ariel doesn't quite have those typical "beach waves" associated with mermaids, but her hair has really nice body and movement with a soft curl. If you want to try this look at home, the VERDICT Hot Brush Curler is perfect! This curling iron brush creates soft curls very quickly and gives a nice natural look. It provides a lot of volume and is simpler than doing a blowout at home.
