Yep. We're about to get nostalgic.

Lizzie McGuire is making a comeback. My 10 year old self is screaming. At the time, Lizzie’s character was always on trend sporting the coolest fashions and hairstyles.

In spirit of the shows resurrection, we will be predicting which of the shows hairstyles are still relevant or have the potential to resurface again.

1. Headscarves

This look is definitely still relevant today and in fact, it was a trending look this summer. Having a bad hair day? It’s nothing a cute bandana can’t fix. Thanks Liz.

2. 70's Wispy Waves

As we mentioned in our previous blog post, “Top 7 Hottest Trends for Fall 2019”, it’s no secret that there is a lot of 70’s inspiration embedded in todays’ fashion.

Wispy waves flooded the NYFW runways a few weeks ago, especially during the Tommy Hilfiger X Zendaya show.

Who knew Lizzie Mcguire was so avant guard.

How to recreate these wispy waves?

  1. Spray damp hair with a heat protection spray
  2. Separate your hair in sections
  3. With your blow dryer, use a round hair brush to straighten your hair outwards away from your face until entire section is dry ( Take enough hair from this section to cover half of the brush)
  4. Let a little more hair down and move on to the next section
  5. Repeat step 3 ( If hair is cold that's how you know it's still not dry)
  6. Once all your hair is blow dried, use a hair oil to eliminate any fly aways and enhance shine

3. Scrunchies

Hair scrunchies have been trending for awhile now and we are so thankful.

Remind me why they were ever out of style? They don't tug or create an unflattering crease once you let your hair down.

And they're just so damn cute.

4. Bobby Pins & Clips

Annoying pieces of hair that just won't stay in place get out of our way because unnecessary bobby pins and clips are here to stay!

How to sport this look today?

You could either clip/pin one side of your hair with 1-3 pins as shown below or pin both sides with one clip/pin

It is such an elegant way to enhance your look for a special occasion when your hairstyle might be looking too plain.

5. The Headband

Lizzie often wore headbands in her hair: bedazzled ones, silky ones, beaded ones, diamond ones you name it.

Head bands have been appearing more and more on instagram. They are predicted to be one of the biggest trends this Fall.

Great news right? They're are such a great way to get your hair out of your face without having to pull your hair back into a headache inducing ponytail.

Lizzie was pretty adventurous when it came to her fashion and hair choices. There is a lot we could have learnt from her character that we might have overlooked as young viewers.

She knew what she liked and didn't let the opinion of others affect her bold choices. Lizzie wore what made her feel confident, she defined her own fashion standards.

This notion is so relevant today.

Fashion is how we express ourselves, a way to radiate what is on the inside with the use of what is placed on the outside.

Lizzie taught us not to be afraid to express ourselves, to wear what makes us feel confident and not to let others define how that should be done.
