GA.MA Professional Italy: The GA.MA Professional experience from the comfort of your own home.
Have you ever cut your hair a bit too short and immediately regretted it? You thought it was a great idea; it was time for a change!
But there's nothing worse than sitting in that salon chair, seeing yourself in the mirror and realizing that you've just made a huge mistake.
As much as you wish your hair would grow back to its long length overnight, it won't for a while... It has to go through the Hair Growth Cycle. Knowing the cycle stages and how to stimulate growth within each stage could get you your long hair back sooner!
Hair growth consists of mainly three stages, but we'll talk about a fourth also. Here's some hair-science for you...
This is the first phase in the hair growth cycle and the MOST crucial phase. The Anagen phase, also known as the Growing phase, can last from 2 to 7 years and determines the length of your hair. The Anagen phase is significantly important if you want to grow out your hair, for it is continuously growing. The goal is to prolong this phase for as long as possible and it's simple to accomplish; scalp stimulation. By increasing scalp stimulation, with a scalp massage for example, blood flow will increase, which positively impacts the health and length of your hair!
You can also add drops of Lakme's K.Therapy Active Shock Concentrate while you massage your scalp, which acts to prevent hair loss, promotes hair growth and increases the density of the hair.
The second phase is considered to be the transitional stage which can last about ten days. The scientific explanation for this phase is, "the hair follicle shrinks and detaches from the dermal papilla". This occurs after each hair has completed the Anagen phase; although the hair in this phase "detaches" from your skin, it usually doesn’t fall out until the new hair “pushes” it out from your scalp.
The Telogen phase is the resting phase which lasts for about three months to five. Around 10-15 percent of hairs are in this phase at a time. While these hairs are in the resting phase, new hairs enter the Anagen phase. The new hairs that enter the growth phase eventually push out the hairs in the resting phase. Stimulating growth isn't feasible during this stage of the growth cycle.
The hair's growth cycle is usually consisted of only the previous 3 phases, but we felt that the Exogen phase is just as important, so we're going to mention it! This is part of the resting phase where the old hair sheds and a new hair continues to grow (Anagen phase). Don't freak out - it's totally normal for your hair to shed. You shed approximately 50 to 150 hairs daily! Hair shedding will not slow down your journey back to your long hair - trust the process.
Hopefully, now you can be more understanding with your hair. It won't grow overnight, it's working hard at getting through the cycle! So be patient, stimulate your scalp, use Lakme's Active Concentrate, and let your hair GROW.
